ESP Executive Committee

All parents are considered members of the Elementary Spanish Program. Anyone who is interested in becoming a Parent Advocate or would like to become an Executive Committee officer should call a member of the Executive Committee. All members and teachers are welcome to attend the Executive Committee meetings. (Contact an Executive Committee member for the date, time, and place of the next meeting).

Board of Directors

	Astrid Clough McDowell President astrid.cloughmcdowell@kidsspeakspanish.org 303-919-9119	Astrid Clough McDowell, President, taught for ESP for several years and has served on the ESP Board of Directors since 1997. Born in Boulder, she was raised bilingually. Her father, a professor at CU, and her mother, a former Spanish teacher with ESP in the 1970s, instilled the strong value of education. Astrid received her BA in Spanish Language & Literature, with an emphasis on education, from the University of Colorado (CU) and also studied abroad in Seville, Spain. She was a flight attendant for United Airlines in the 1990s, teaching and tutoring students on her days off. In the early 2000s, she taught Spanish at Peak to Peak Charter School and mentored and tutored student athletes enrolled in the School of Arts & Sciences at CU. She joined Hospitality Valuation Services (HVS) as an editor and writing instructor in 2005. She is currently the senior editor for multiple HVS offices across the United States and in Mexico

	Robin Lee Vice-President robin.lee@kidsspeakspanish.org 303-485-9688	Robin Lee has been on the Board of the Elementary Spanish Program since 2002 and is the busy mother of two teenagers. Before the children were born, Robin spent eight years living in four different countries. Most of the people she became acquainted with in those countries spoke at least two languages and this made a big impression on her. When her oldest child was about to enter kindergarten, she learned about the ESP program and requested that the principal invite the program to the elementary school. Both children were enrolled in ESP throughout elementary school. During her years on the Board, Robin has witnessed remarkable growth in the ESP program; evidence that, like her, there are many parents who are passionate about second-language learning!
	Tanya Jamison Member-at-large tanya.jamison@kidsspeakspanish.org 303-396-2361	Tanya Jamison has been a board member since 2010. Tanya works fulltime as WW Director of Marketing for Electrorent Corporation (NASDAQ: ELRC) and applies that business skill and experience to the ESP board position. Tanya also has a daughter now in middle school, who went through ESP at Flatirons Elementary School.
